This Is Almost The End

Of break, that is.

Quite eventful and I apologize for not having updated this sooner so I didn’t have to pile this all up like so.

The rest of last week was a little uneventful. On Saturday, I met with my fellow VSA people in order to brainstorm for the Tet Parade coming up soon. We found a story that was good and are going to base it loosely off of that. We had dinner at Cheesecake Factory and then saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. As long as the movie was, I enjoyed it. Plus, who doesn’t love seeing Brad Pitt look like that? I could tell that he had a lot of makeup on though when he was supposed to look younger.

Then Sunday came around and that’s when the drama stated. My dad found out that I failed my AAS class and was definitely not happy. I stayed clear for a while. Sunday, I felt awful, so I called up MP and she took me to Johnny V’s. We talked a bit and she helped me realize that I had pretty much made my bed and now I needed to lie in it. We then decided to go to Dave and Busters and ran into NN working there. She invited us to her coworkers’ poker game (I had met them a few times before). It was a good night. MP left with some money.

Tuesday, I met up with an old friend, LP. She knew about my troubles too and was also helpful with her advice. Since she had to pick me up, I looked for a bar nearby and ended up at the Peacock Lounge. It was a good night there considering it was Tuesday. It was Karaoke night so there were quite a few people going up. Then we headed to Dave and Busters (again, I know) where her other friends were supposed to be. I met a few of them, more noticeably, a JLI. Since his friends were working people, they couldn’t stay out too long, so JLI, LP, and I continued to stay out to find something to do. We stopped by Edgie’s, a pool hall, where they had those TV games and played Photo Hunt for a little bit. Then we got hungry and ended up at Denny’s for late night food.

Wednesday, I went out with another old friend from grade school, ATH. His friend was supposed to play at Brit Arms, but ended up not going, but we went anyway since we liked the bar. We caught up, talked a lot. In the midst of our talking, he got a craving for pho (Vietnamese Noodle Soup), so we headed out to a restaurant that was open late. Then we ended up at a bar right next to my parents’, VIP Oriental. We had a beer and continued to chat. I really liked that bar too and had a good time just talking with him.

Thursday, MP and I met up with LP and her friend, VD. At first, it was just going to be MP and I, but JLI invited us over to his place for a Wii night, so we went. There were quite a few people and I had a fun time just chatting with people. After a few hours, we got hungry and ended up at VIP for some kimchee fried rice and other food.

Last night, I again spent the night with MP, LP, and VD (and others). We had a few drinks at LP’s place (a few Scooby Snacks and a blowjob) before heading downtown. We hit up The Loft first but saw it was a little empty, so we headed over to Vivid, a dance club, and danced a little. We got a little bored with the music selection, so we headed back to The Loft. The dance floor was smaller, but the music definitely better. I had a good time dancing with my friends and one of MP’s friends, H. He was a good dancer and he wasn’t trying to hump me like a lot of guys do in clubs. We were genuinely just having a good time dancing with one another. JLI ended up coming out after all, but came a little late. It was all good though.

As for today… I am inside. For now. I think I will be heading to a library later with JLI to read (he’s studying since school already started for him). I want to finish The Joy Luck Club anyway.

Peace out y’all.

This Is The Return

I came back a few hours ago. It was a painful flight because my ear didn’t pop right so halfway through my hour flight, my ear started to hurt really bad. Even now it hurts a little.

Let’s start where the trip began. I went down to my parents’ on Thursday night since I had a dental appointment on Friday morning. The visit was quite painful; the dentist had to work on the tooth all the way on the very end, so not only did I keep my mouth open for an hour (though surprisingly, that wasn’t the painful part), he had to pull my cheek out to work on it. Then the tooth started to hurt after the visit. It took a few days for my cheek to feel normal again.

On Saturday, I hopped on the Viet bus down to SoCal. It was long and I had a hard time sleeping. The seats weren’t in a good enough position for me to sleep and I didn’t feel like reading, so I let my eyes wander for a bit. When I got to San Diego, my sister quickly drove around to show me what was nearby. We stayed in for the night and ate some of the food that I had brought down from my parents’.

Since my sister was on-call at the hospital (she’s a 3rd-year med student), I had all of Sunday to myself with the car, so I drove to the beach. It was amazing. I hadn’t felt good water and it just felt good to be in it with all the waves. Sure, I went by myself, but it was still a good experience. I thought that I’d try to snorkel, so I rented some gear. I had never snorkeled before so learning to do it myself was painful. I sucked in a lot of salty water. When I finally got the hang of it, I swam awhile until I saw to leopard sharks (harmless) swim by. I freaked out and started heading back. On the way back, I saw some big black masses in the water and freaked out some more. I was planning on snorkeling by the cove too, but I chickened out. Maybe if I was swimming with someone, it wouldn’t be so scary, but thus, I was alone. Maybe if I do it again, I’ll have to have someone go with me. After the beach, I ended up driving around a bit, mostly due to getting lost though.

My sister and I had planned to get manicures after she got back from work and had slept, but since she was so tired, she slept in too long and by the time she woke up, we had to head out for dinner. I was a little cranky that day too. Since my sister didn’t get much sleep, she was uber-cranky so when I had to pick her up, she was not in a good mood and it didn’t help that I had gotten lost, so she kept calling every minute to yell at me and tell me to hurry up. Then since she found out that she needed to be on-call again on Wednesday, I tried to get the keys copied, but they couldn’t do it right twice, so I got a little annoyed with them too. We had dinner with a few of her friends at a Mexican restaurant in downtown La Jolla. The food was alright and the service definitely could have been better.

While my sister was at work on Tuesday, I walked down to the mall to get my mani/pedi. I paid way too much for such a shitty job. It’s so bad that tomorrow (technically today) I’m going to go to my normal place to have them redo it. I ended up buying two new pairs of shoes (which were on sale!) at Cathy Jean. On my way home, I thought I’d stop by Macy’s and found that they were having a good dress sale, so I bought three new dresses for under $20 each! I know, such a good find, right? They were satin dresses too, so perfect for when I go to Vegas! We had dinner again with some other friends at a Korean BBQ restaurant. As much as I enjoy eating out, I felt really left out since all her friends were med students and they would either gossip about other students or about their coworkers and working conditions. There wasn’t much that I could contribute to and nobody really seemed to notice a whole lot anyway.

Wednesday/today was another chill day. I slept in despite having my sister’s roommate’s cat attack my moving limbs from underneath the blanket. He’s such a cute kitty that I couldn’t get mad at him, despite having him wake me up a couple times. Then… we found the laser pointer. I had such a blast playing with him and the laser pointer. Watching him chase that little circle around and across the walls was quite amusing. My sister and I ended up having lunch before she had to go back into work. The Italian restaurant was okay, but our waitress didn’t check up on us much, so I didn’t like that. My sister went to work and her roommate ended up driving me to the airport. We were running a little close on time, so I had to grab dinner inside the airport. I can’t believe how ridiculously priced the food is! Goodness! I landed safely, took the shuttle from the airport to the BART and then a cab from the BART. A guy started chatting me up and he seemed pretty interesting. He ended up giving me his card with his number on it, so I have to figure out what I want to do with that.

Now, if this was a few weeks ago, I would’ve have called him in a few days, except, the time is now and now, things are different. Oh, I had forgotten to mention all that happened on Thursday night. So, I got into town and I thought that maybe since I’m so much closer to EC (read the last Saturday), we should do something. We met up and went to Dave & Buster’s, a bar/arcade/restaurant kind of place. A little like Chuck E. Cheese’s, but for grownups. However, since I’m still 21, I had to wake for NN to let us in since she works there. Luckily, she hung with her coworkers so EC and I were left to just play the games ourselves. We did pretty good that night. We won about 2,000 tickets or so from a few games. NN wanted us to go to a bar, but EC had been up since 3:30 that morning and was tired. I also wanted to go home because I knew my parents wouldn’t have wanted me to stay out so late. EC took me home and walked me to my door and… gave me a hug. I was a little disappointed at first, but then decided to take matters into my own hands and ran after him to get what I wanted. I didn’t stay for very long, but now I’m kicking myself wishing that I had. My plan had backfired. I thought that if I just gave him a little bit, then he’d be wanting more, except it was me now who wanted more. I haven’t seen him since and he wanted to meet with my this Saturday night for a big comedy event, but I already had plans with JLS and well… ho’s before bros, right? Especially awesome, out-of-town, totally irreplaceable “ho’s.”

Anyway, back to what I was trying to explain two paragraphs ago… so yes, I kind of like EC. This is a little big because I haven’t had a good crush on someone since… well, you know, the last one. This is the kind of crush that makes me not want to date other people, not even as ‘backup’. I know, I shouldn’t lay all my eggs one basket, but for this basket, I wouldn’t mind. Even if things don’t work out, I’m still going to experience good feelings and that’s something that I’m looking forward to.

I should unpack, clean up, and head to bed. Night!
