This Is Fun
The “camping” trip was fun. I put “camping” in quotes because the campsite wasn’t exactly a real campsite since there were showers with “mystery shampoo” and bathrooms. Hell, I saw washing machines somewhere! EC and I arrived around 4pm on Saturday. We set up the tent and waited for the others to return from their hike. We ate dinner, drank a few beers, smoked some weed, and made smores. It was pretty chill. Everyone was telling us that it was going to get really cold, so we bundled up in our tiny little two-person tent. But I guess because it was so small, it got really hot over the course of the night, despite how cold it was outside. We were basically sleeping in shorts and a tee.
The next morning, we woke up, packed, had breakfast and then started to head home. I know, we were there for less than 24 hours, but it was still a fun event. On the way home, his friends wanted to play volleyball, so we stayed near San Jose until they arrived. No one wanted to set up the net, so they played tackle football to see who would set up, but by the time they were done with their game, they were so tired and were ready to head home. As we were getting ready to leave, we noticed another group coming to the park and was going to set up their volleyball equipment. We then suggested a friendly game and the next thing we know, we’re playing six sets until it was about 7pm.
Overall, the weekend was pretty fun despite how it started Friday night. I left with three very frustratingly itchy bug bites and maybe a bruise here or there from the volleyball, but it was all good. I thought about my friend quite a bit since he had passed away will swimming in Big Sur. May he rest in peace and I pray that he continues to watch over us.
So I had a small talk with EC and according to him, we are having fun. He asked me what I wanted and I told him that I was going with the flow. It’s strange. With BART Boy and with Asian Dude, I knew that I wasn’t ready for a relationship. With EC, it’s not that I don’t want a relationship, but I don’t know if I do either. I know, I guess I’m doing it again where I want someone else to choose for me, but I really don’t know. I like having fun and with EC, it is fun. We can afford to have fun. It’s so different dating someone who’s not broke or low on finances. I feel as if I can have so much because the world is in our hands. I don’t know; we’ll see where this goes, but so far, I’m enjoying it.
And since that technically means I’m still a free woman, I’m still taking a look around. I’m thinking about meeting up with L (the Frat boy) to see if there’s anything there, either romantically or as friends, but since he’s in two different fraternities and it’s the beginning of the semester, I don’t know what’s going on just yet. He’s a busy, busy boy too. (And also from a good affluent family, not that it matters too much anyway)
This week is almost half done. There’s a VSA event tomorrow night that I’m going to. Since it’s the Moon Festival this weekend, we’re going to make paper lanterns and walk around Berkeley like we used to do when we were kids. I haven’t done that since I was probably 8.
Although the rejection still stings, I’m moving on. I’ll appreciate my free time and hopefully put it to good use.
