This Was The Thrill
Today, Asian Dude and I went to a theme park. I know, crazy, right? I haven’t gone to a theme park in four years and man, it was pretty awesome. He invited me because he ended up getting a season pass and with said pass, he had a few complimentary friend ones, so why not, right? It was kind of a last minute decision and well, I’m glad I made it. I missed my class, but it’s okay. It’s nothing too serious for now.
The day started with me waking up at my normal time, but giving myself enough time to 1) get ready, 2) get cash at the ATM, just in case, and 3) make sure I can find the stop. I was going to hop onto the Amtrak, a higher end train system, and I hadn’t used it myself in a ridiculously long time, so I wanted to make sure that I knew what was going on. I got to the transfer station on time, but since there were other kids also going to the theme park, they had to check all 50 of them, so there was a ten minute delay.
I finally arrived about twenty minutes after the schedule and met up with Asian Dude. We then went to Pasta Pomodoro for lunch, then headed out to the theme park.
Man, the whole thing was pretty amazing. I admit, we went on some pretty lame and/or painful rides, but it was fun. The first ride we went on was a bit of a rush. The ride has your feet dangle and kind of follows a line. First, you blast from 0 to probably 40 mph in about a second or two. You go up one line that twists a little, then fall back down the other end of the line where it has you suspend horizontally for a few seconds. What I mean is that the line starts to go into a U-shape and the horizontal part has you face the ground. The first time on it was pretty rough since we had just eaten, so all the gravity and G forces were affecting my stomach and food. But… we made it out alive.
We went on a few other rides after that and saw some animals. There were a lot of kids there since it’s June and schools like to have field trips. I was quite annoyed for some of the time since kids are usually known to be loud and obnoxious. (I can only hope that I wasn’t, but I’m pretty sure I was) There was a new ride that was highly advertised, but I hated it because it was really bumpy. It was designed, in my opinion anyway, like one of those spinning cups, but instead of going around in circles, you went around on a roller coaster track. Imagine a box that spins while going through the coaster. That was us. Except, again, it was bumpy because every time we would turn the corner or go around the curve, the car would jerk us and whatnot. It was not very smooth at all. And right as we were about to leave, one of the other cars broke down.
Near the end of our stay, we… well, mostly me, decided to go rock climbing. I had wanted to go because the first and only time I had gone, I chickened out before reaching the top. This time, I told myself that I would do it. There are three different difficulty levels: easy, medium, and hard. He and I both chose to do the medium one and after much work, we both made it to the top. I was quite proud of myself for making it up there, though I admit, had I looked down, I probably would have chickened out before reaching the top. To end the day at the park, we had funnel cake. It was delicious and yummy. You really cannot go wrong with funnel cake and I wish I could eat it all day long… almost.
But our date didn’t end there. We went to a drink place and grabbed us some pearl teas and then hit the marina for a bit. I noticed that all day, he wasn’t very touchy, so I thought I’d take matters into my own hands, so I grabbed in him to kiss him, except… it was only a peck. I was disappointed, but I didn’t want to mention anything just yet. After he dropped me off at the bus station and I found out that my train was delayed, I called and asked him if his distance should be something I need to worry about it.
It turns out that he was distant because he didn’t want to give the impression that he wanted a relationship. So we cleared the air by both telling each other what we wanted and it was nice and simple. Hopefully, the next time we meet, I’ll get a proper kiss damn it. I intend to make it happen!
I still need to figure out what to do with BART Boy though. I think I’m going to do the same thing and ask him what he wants out of our time together. If it’s more than what I’m ready for at the moment, I’m just going to have to tell him. I don’t want to lead him on and I think it’s something that needs to be cleared up, right?
Anyways, I’m tried. I got back about an hour ago and I’ve been out all day long. Who knew dating could be so exhausting?!
