This Was The Day Of Splurging

I tried to save money over the last few weeks and I did pretty well since I didn’t have to spend on food. Except, today, I pretty much went on an all over splurging spree. I spent a lot of money today, much more than I probably saved in the last three weeks.

I bought myself my first pairs of Converses. I needed to replace one of my casual shoes because the soles had been worn out and I basically had no cushion when I walked out the door. I’ve liked the style of Converse for a while (the lo-tops) and never had the money, or wanted to shell out the money to buy them, but I finally did. I bought two because I bought them from the store next to the market and I figured that I might be able to swing in a discount and they did. I basically paid about 20% less than I would have if I bought them at regular price. I saved $16!

Afterwards, I went to get my artificial CalGel nails taken off at the salon and that was relatively cheap. Then I thought I’d stop by Payless to see if they had any shoes that I might be interested in and I finally, finally found a pair of white peep-toe wedges that I have been looking for the longest time. Any place I went to either had them and were too expensive, or had them and would have seriously hurt my feet within 30 minutes of wearing them. But this one? No, it didn’t look like it would hurt me and I didn’t want this opportunity to pass up, so I bought them. Still a relatively cheap pair of shoes, but spending nonetheless.

Then my really impulsive move came. I had been planning to dye my hair again and was going to do it today (Tuesday) from a box of hair dye. Except, I thought that if I tried to dye it now, the red that I would want from the box wouldn’t show up until later, after the wedding this Saturday, so I decided to go to a salon to do it. It was my first time getting a professional hair dye job and I’m satisfied with what came out. I’m not completely satisfied, but that is my doing since I dyed my hair black (second paragraph). It’s okay; my red highlights have a nice fade to it and I’m pleased. I’ve posted a picture on my Facebook, but unless you know my name, I suppose you’re just going to have to wait to see what it looks like.

After that, I thought, “I spent a lot of money on this hair dye, so I need a really good shampoo and conditioner that will really help keep the color in as long as it can.” And with that, I bought Pureology, which, by the way, is so not cheap.

Very expensive purchases. Oh, and I forgot to mention that earlier this (Tuesday) morning, I bought some things from Origins since they had a 25% off and free shipping coupon. Their stuff is the good stuff too.

Yes, no more shopping for a long, long time. Very long time. I should be good on everything. Nada más.
