This Was The Dinner
So I’m still at my cousin’s place right now. Yesterday, I had gone to work on my last day as the assistant financial manager. I also passed out Christmas cards and candy canes since I didn’t know if the staff would still be there after this week because the paper stopped its production. I’m going to miss that place, but I’ll be okay.
After work, I went to go see FL and he gave me a questionnaire to see if I might have adult ADHD. I guess it kind of makes sense about me, but at the same time, it still takes me by surprise since I always thought it was a child’s disorder, you know? But I suppose that adults can have it too. I just don’t want to feel as if this is my excuse for doing poorly in school.
Since I had a few hours to kill after my appointment with FL and before my cousin’s girlfriend’s dinner, I went to SF and did a little shopping. I bought a sweater for a friend and some underwear for myself. I was trying to find some chocolate for the girlfriend, but by the time I got to the store, it was already closed, so I just settled for some really nice hand moisturizer.
The dinner was held at a very nice Cantonese restaurant in Chinatown called R & G. The food was delicious and surprisingly, I was able to eat just about every dish that we ordered. Afterwards, we headed back to my cousin’s place and played some games. The first game was “Pit.” It deals with a lot of trading. Basically, you start of with a set of about nine cards and on those cards are different commodities. Your goal is to trade cards and get all the cards of your commodity first before anyone else. It was quite fun to play.
After that, we played two games of poker. I admit that I had some pretty awesome luck. I had a lot of showdowns and won pretty much all of them. I didn’t win the game, but I broke even. We split the pot from the first game, so I had a profit, but since I played the second game, I broke even. When the second game finished, most of the guests had left since it was about one or two in the morning. There were four of us left, so we started playing a game called “Settlers.” It’s a bit like monopoly where you have to build developments and stuff. There’s a lot of strategy that goes into the game.
My cousin and I talked for a while and we didn’t go to bed until five in the morning, so yes, I stayed over. I wish I knew that I was going to because I would have at least brought a toothbrush. Like I said earlier, I’m still here. We’re planning to go to Macy’s later and I think after that, he’ll drop me off at the BART station for me to go home.
Anyway, I should get off. I’m on his roommate’s laptop even though the roommate isn’t here. But yeah, I don’t want to be too rude and stay here for too long.
