This Was Quite A Weekend

Thursday night comes and what happens to the server? Some prick decides to fuck with the server and decided to change ALL of the index pages (and any starting with ‘index’) to some message that basically says, “Ha ha noob. You’ve been hacked.” It caused a bit of a problem since this happened during the nightly backup, so the changed index files were saved with the backup. But I guess my host somehow found a way to change everything back to before that (possibly by using the backup from the night before?). Anyway, so we’re back and functional and that makes me a happy panda again.

Let’s see if I can do a recap. Thursday consisted of school, a doctor’s appointment, a meeting, class, Married With Children, and a dinner with my freshman year roommates in honor of my birthday. Friday consisted of rain, rain, wind, rain, rain, work, rain, rain, staying in, walking out into a park, and sleep. See, I was supposed to head to my parents’ on Friday, but because it was wet and rainy and because I knew Saturday was going to look better, I called my dad and told him that I wasn’t coming home due to the bad weather.

I didn’t get to my parents’ until about 2pm and I helped out for a bit to set up for the party today. Actually, I don’t even know if you can call it a party because it’s not exactly a celebration. What happens is that every year near the anniversary of our ancestor’s death, we set up a small table with food and we offer them to the ancestor. That’s a very simplified explanation, but that’s as best as I can explain it. Anyway, so I helped set up a bit by expanding our table (yes, we have one of those) and setting up the chairs, living room, etc. After that, I met up with a friend, RN, for coffee at his favorite (and what I believe to be a very good) coffee shop. It’s a place I enjoy going to (if I ever do) because the shop has two very awesome couches. You sit and you just sink into cushion. It’s awesome. Anyway, so we hung out there for about two hours or so before I told him I needed to go. Surprisingly enough, my parents didn’t call until I was on my home (about four to five hours later) to see where I was. Oh, did I mention that this was the first time they allowed me to take the car out myself? Yes, I know. I was surprised too, but I’m happy that they’re trusting me more with this.

Today was mostly for the family. It was odd because my cousins were wondering if I would be at the “party.” I don’t understand why they would have to wonder that since I don’t go to school very far away. In fact, I am the closest (on this side of the family) in terms of where I went to college than all my other cousins (UCLA, UC Riverside, UCSD, Yale). Anyway, so I saw my family, hung out with my cousin (because I was one of three “kids” at the “kids” table).

Tonight is going to be some cleaning, sleeping, and reading since SB will not be coming tonight. Am I a bit bummed? Yes, but I know that my company does not measure to the company he will be enjoying tonight and I would rather him be happy than for me to be selfish. Yes, that is me. I am two people in one I think. Either that or it’s because I’m too indecisive to make a clear-cut decision half the time.

Good night folks.
