This Was Productive

I got quite a bit of work done today. I think I clocked it about six hours or so and I do believe that’s the most I’ve ever clocked in since I started. It’s usually been between an hour to four, but never that much more. Oh well. I just wanted to take care of it all so I wouldn’t have a heap load to do on Friday, especially this Friday since I’m planning to head to my parents’ for the weekend.

I’ve decided that insurance companies suck. I know that Moore came out with Sicko and all, but I didn’t watch it and I don’t plan to watch it. The whole system is whack. I mean, my dad pays quite a bit a month for insurance, you know? And for every visit we make, we have a co-pay which likes to suck more money out of our pockets. Not to mention the fact that there are different co-pays for the different types of doctors you need to visit. The school health care isn’t all that great either. I was recommended to see a dermatologist over the summer, but in order to do so, I had to pay some ridiculous fee just to see one.

Back to my spiel about insurance. So anyway, I need to get my second Gardasil shot and since I can’t take a day off just to get one at the office in my hometown, I need to get it in my college town. However, in order for the insurance to cover it, I need to change the primary care physician to the one in my college town. I can’t just go to another doctor in the same network; I actually need to change doctors, which I personally don’t want to do because I still plan on going to the one in my hometown, but for the sake of my Gardasil shots, I need to do this. It’s just a mess of work that I have to do and since it’s my second shot, I had to call the office so they could fax the record of my first shot to the college town doctor. See the all the fuss?

Beside that, I don’t think anything else happened. I grabbed my usual lunch of a Caesar salad and Jamba Juice. I showed up for work and did some internal work. I went home, watched some lectures, which I suggest you all take advantage of here. You have no idea how many resources are available out there for people! There are so many lectures online that you can watch and some of them are amazing too! I’m currently taking Astro C10 from Filippenko and he’s just awesome. You watch one lecture and you feel as if you’ve learned so much in it; he captivates you with his quirkiness. Anyway, it’s a good resource for those who don’t attend the campus but want a feel of the lectures, but it’s a bad motivation for students at the campus to not attend class, which I admit is my folly. But since it’s my only class in the afternoon for Mondays and Wednesdays, I usually just stay at work.

After the lectures, or during I suppose, I started to bake a cake for SB. I know that he likes cake and well, I thought I’d do something nice for a change since I kind of pick on him so much. It’s nice to be able to be… better than where we were a few weeks ago. Now, I admit that this is not my ideal place to be, but I’m trying to build faith and I want to believe that we can someday either get back to where we were or get better than where we were. It will all unfold with time, which is my biggest enemy, but for the good things in life, I think it’s worth waiting for. Like, my nails. I read in a review at MakeUpAlley.com (great resource for makeup reviews by the way) that Omega-3 fish oil helps with the growth and overall improvement of hair and nails, so I bought a bottle and I take about two pills a day. However, I was warned in the reviews that it would take about two months to see results and so I’m waiting for that because I really do want to have healthy nails. I don’t know if I’m taking the right dosage though; I take two pills a day even though the bottle says two pills per meal. It’s just that my meals are kind of sporadic and I don’t want to carry more stuff in my purse than I already do, you know?

So yes, SB and I are working it out. Slowly, but like I said, I’m willing to wait for something this good.
