When Today Was All About Books
Sometimes I wonder who my other visitors are, especially the other regulars. I know there are a couple in the Bay and some on the east coast, but I have no clue who’s watching me. Okay, I take that back. I know SB is reading, but other than him, I have no clue who the others are.
It kinda makes it exciting to not know at the same time.
Anyway, so… here’s the earth. Kidding. I think I had one too many pixie sticks before going to mass today. Oops. Did I mention how much I enjoy going to mass? I really do. Although I have a bad habit of zoning out here and there, but overall, I enjoy going to mass. I like the songs that we sing and most of all, I like being reminded each week that I am truly blessed to have what I have in my life. Even if there are bad things that are going on, I still strive to find the good that’s in my life. The only thing that I hate doing each week is crying. Every time I get down to kneel and pray, I cry. I don’t cry because I’m sad; I cry because I know that I am so blessed and so lucky to have all that I have, to have all of my friends and my family, to have met the people I did and to feel the way I do. Sure, I can easily do that at home, but… I dunno. I just feel as if my heart (or whatever’s left of it) is more open in a church setting than almost anywhere else. (Almost)
My father came up today. I had asked him to come up to install a new light for me. Sure, I could have done it myself, but 1) he would have the lights since it was at home 2) he would have the proper tools 3) he’s done it many times before and knows what to do. Now it’s much brighter in my study area (which is the living room) than before. After we got done with that, we headed out to OSH to get myself a new shelf and possibly a bookcase. I returned the shelves I bought last week since he and I both agreed that it would look too ugly if I were to only use it for mementos. The good thing is that we found a (rather expensive) pre-made shelf that’s a rectangle. Luckily, the rectangle is wide enough for me to put my paperback books in and deep enough for me to put my picture frames on top. It’s really cute and convenient.
While at OSH, we also found a bookcase on clearance for about $17. It’s three-tiered and very convenient since the shelves can fold upward and the sides inward to create a flat figure. It’s easier for transporting and doesn’t require any assembly whatsoever (besides opening it, that is). Except now that I’ve moved my paperback books out from my shelf on the bigger bookcase, I don’t think I’ll be needing the new bookcase, but I’m sure I’ll find something to put on it.
Remind me to never read a book in bed again… because if I do, I will surely fall asleep.
Wait, let me rephrase: Remind me to never read a school book in bed again.
I need to buy a new mop. I ended up vacuuming and sweeping the apartment yesterday. I wanted to mop but this sponge-on-a-stick that we have looks really gross and crappy, so I need to buy a better sponge-on-a-stick on… Tuesday. I could go tomorrow, but I will most likely be quite tired by the end of the day.
I still have to pee. I’ve had to pee before mass, but I didn’t go and I haven’t gone since I got back, so now I need to go. Well, I gotta take care of that and my homework too, so I will write again tomorrow night… assuming I don’t pass out tomorrow.
