When Today Was Cold

I’m getting really irritated with my gas usage… or lack thereof. I called PG&E and asked for an appointment to have my gas heater lit, but the first time I called, they said they couldn’t do it due to a lack of having a meter. The second time I called, they couldn’t do it since I wasn’t paying for it and the appointment needed to be set by the manager.

But I finally had a talk with my manager and she told me that in order for me to use the heater, I need to call the maintenance guy to come and light it for me. And I would really like it on since it’s been getting colder lately and I don’t want a ridiculously high electric bill by using the electric heater.

Well… I am sore. My thighs have been sore all day and my back shoulders too. I’m going to hop in a nice bubble bath as soon as I finish cleaning the bathtub. =) Oh and after I mop the kitchen floor too. I don’t know why, but when I’m at an apartment, I always want to keep things clean. I make my bed, do the dishes, keep everything nice and neat. However, when I’m in my hometown or when I was in the dorms, I never did any of that stuff. I’d clean up once in a while, but that was only because my mess got out of hand.

Tomorrow morning, I head back to the gym to continue this newer, healthy, fit me. Okay, so my eating habits haven’t been that healthy lately, but I’ve stopped buying the obviously bad stuff like hot dogs and pizzas. At least I’m cutting back on something right?

I think my parents are funny. My mother scams public organizations into getting free stuff by making us look poor. My dad is overprotective and paranoid. When he left on Sunday, he told me to keep a long rope underneath my bed. Why? In the event that this building is on fire and I cannot leave through either staircase (there are two at the end of each hallway), then I would use the rope to climb down to a safer height to either jump or fall. He makes me chuckle sometimes. The other times I’d rather not talk about right now…

Dinner was okay today. I met up with one of my old dorm roommates, SW, and she swiped me in to eat at the dining commons. I’m really not a fan of their food, but like I said, it works I guess. She and I caught up a bit and talked about this and that. Earlier today I was by myself going back to Target to buy a wash cloth only to find out that my roommate has one stashed here and to OSH to buy myself another reading light for the bedroom.

(an hour and thirty minutes later)

Mmmmm. That bath was really good. At one point, though, my body’s temperature rose way too hot for comfort, so I ended up walking around the apartment for a bit while I cooled off. The cool thing was that I could see the steam coming off of my skin. I’ve finished mopping the floor (as best as I could without proper equipment) and scrubbing the tub clean. I even installed a new shower head, one that’s removable, but I think it’s set a little too high. It might not be high for a taller person, but I’m known to be rather short, so… yeah.

Anyway, I’m taking the night off to lounge again. I plan to watch the latest House episode and possibly read a book.
