When Today Was Only Monday
I am pooped again. I didn’t get as much done as I would have liked, but oh well. I woke up a little too late to try and get my school stuff done, so I stayed in for a bit to lounge. True, I could have stopped by in the afternoon, but by the time I left the house, it was noon and at school, any office you need is useless around lunch time.
Despite not doing anything school related, I still managed to get quite a few things taken care of. I went to the bank, to Cingular, to Berkeley’s Public Library to get a library card in order to request Stephenie Meyer’s New Moon and then to Target. For those who don’t know, Target is a large store that sells things just about anything you can think of. They don’t have an extensive collection for each category, but their products cover a very wide range. Anyway, so I went to Target to pick up a few supplies and I left with more than I needed to buy. That is my folly; I tend to buy things that I don’t need or I buy too much of something just so I can be sure that I have enough.
It was a rather hard trip home because by the time I was done with Target, I had four bags: one bag for the waste basket and miscellaneous items, one bag for the three-pack box of tissues, one bag for my hangers and new bed sheets, and one large bag for a 30-roll pack of toilet paper. It was a painful trip for my fingers from the parking lot of Target to the BART station, then from the station to the bus stop, and finally from the bus stop to my apartment. I’m weak sauce, I know.
After pouring myself a good cup of soy milk, I plopped down on the futon and checked a few internet-related things before I got back up to go out again. This time, I headed back to the library (because I didn’t have proof of residence the first time) and stopped by a couple of bookstores along the way. Barnes and Noble had a copy of New Moon, but I didn’t want to spoil myself too much and left. I did, however, buy myself a wall calendar. It’s really cool and has a sort of light/dark mythical feel to it. I would have bought more for other people, but I decided against it just in case those people didn’t really need or want a wall calendar.
Just as I was leaving the library, I impulsively decided to stop by a thrift clothing store. I shouldn’t have gone because when I was done, I was walking out with a new feather down comforter. Okay, I’ll confess that I didn’t pay the full price for it because I switched sticker tags so it was a little less than half the original price, but… I can’t help it! I like buying stuff and as I mentioned before, I tend to get a lot of things that I don’t need.
I don’t have anything planned for the rest of the night except to unpack a lot more of my things and figure out where I want things to go and stuff like that. Hopefully Stockton Boy will call after midnight, but we’ll see what happens.
