When Today Was A Quiet Mess

Again, just as yesterday, work was quite slow. I spent about three hours shelf-reading, one hour shelving one (just one) cart, and one hour talking. Haha. It was mostly the same people as yesterday, but DT wasn’t here; she was replaced by T. Thank God I had my iPod because I would have gone crazy with the music that B wanted to play. Oh my goodness.

After that, I made my way home and started to clean out my closet. I have less than one week to pack all of my things and head back to Berkeley, so I thought I’d get a head start. And damn, I have a lot of stuff. I started emptying my paper boxes and putting the things I didn’t need to take with me in plastic boxes so I could take the paper ones with me to move in and collapse them once I was finished. After looking around for a bit, it doesn’t seem that I will bring a lot of things. I don’t need many school supplies, so that’s good, but I still have all of my clothes, books (which should take up less than a box), purses/bags, and… my shoes. Oh my glorious shoes.

Speaking of shoes, NN stopped by in the midst of my cleaning so we could exchange our Christmas gifts. She gave me really cute boots and I’m kind of excited to wear them; I just hope that I can create an outfit worthy of those shoes. Knowing her, she probably spent a pretty penny on them, but not too big a penny. Since she was already at my house, we decided to go out to eat and invited C to come with. On the way there, she got a call from R and he came along too.

So it was the four of us at Pasta Pomodoro, which is a relatively good restaurant to eat if you’re not in the mood to pay too much. It was a funny night; so many things were flying back and forth one another. Haha. N told me earlier that R had the opportunity to be E-40’s server at Red Lobster! For those who don’t know, E-40 is a Bay ( “Yay” ) Area rapper who played a large role in promoting the Hyphy movement. Anyway, so the night was pretty much just food, but it was still fun.

Today was a relatively good day. I got a call late last night from SB, which was quite unexpected. I’m currently giving him some time to focus on himself in order for him to find a peace of mind, which I pray that he will achieve. Anyway, as I said, I’m giving him time, but when he called me yesterday, it was quite a surprise to me. Apparently, some things had gone down and he desperately needed someone to talk to. After unsuccessfully trying to call other people, he finally decided to call me, which I thought was nice. So far, it seems that things are getting better and for that I’m thankful. I’m thankful for a lot of things right now and I’m just glad that things are starting to look better for me and for those I love.

Anyway, happy new year. I’ll probably do a post of my goals and shit later, but not now since I need to be able to sleep later without things jabbing at my side.
